God is Mindful of YOU!
Did you know God is mindful of you? You are on His mind constantly.
Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Petr 5:7
Amplified translation: “Casting all your cares (all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares about you (with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully.)”
Isn’t that powerful. Just pause and meditate on that for a minute. Do you truly believe that God cares for you and watches over you with care? People flippantly say, “oh yea, God loves everybody.” It’s so impersonal and misleading. I need to remind you today that He loves you. YOU! You matter to Him!
One of my high school students who was a solid Christian and a leader in our weekly campus Bible Studies had a crisis of belief one summer. She was sure that Jesus died on the cross for the world but she doubted that He would do it for just her. She was having trouble figuring out how to personalize the Gospel and receive His grace for herself.
When teenagers wrestle with their understanding of faith, grace, and the Gospel, this is a crucial, pivotal moment of their spiritual journey. It’s important they are connected to a spiritual mentor who they can confide in and talk to. This crisis of belief can happen at any stage of life, not just for teenagers.
The rest of her story . . .that summer she cried out to God and asked Him ‘if I were the only person on earth, would Jesus die for me?’ Moments later a song came on the radio with the very words she longed to hear. That was all she needed to know and the flood gates of God’s love and grace embraced her in a very powerful way that day. She will forever remember the moment when God revealed Himself to her in a personal and unforgettable way.
Have you experienced a personal encounter with your Heavenly Father? How does He show you that He is mindful of you? Have you struggled or currently struggling with a crisis of belief? If so, take a moment and cry out to God to show you His deepest affection for YOU.
